Being brave, strong or even stoic doesn’t mean you don’t ever feel scared or weak, it just means that when you feel those things, you dig deep within and find a way through them; battling the rising tide of hardship, letting it carry you away for a time but in the end, reaching out, putting your mind and body into it so that you emerge on the other side – a bit battered, perhaps even wiser and then you get back on with your life.
I’m with you on this one mate. There’s such strength in vulnerability, there’s courage in openness. Thanks for sharing your writing. Bring on the gallows humour! Oh, and insight of course…
You are the strongest, bravest person I know. You have prevailed through all the universe has thrown at you. I have watched with pride as you fought your way from one disaster after another, never losing hope or humour. I will always be there for you and Jason – the best son-in-law in the world.
Love always, Mum
